An appropriately skilled TDL industry workforce is essential to meet the needs of an efficient and growing Victorian economy and to facilitate the growth of international trade to and from Victoria.

Victoria is fortunate to have a vast number of education institutions that provide courses in transport, distribution, and logistic and supply chain management. The courses range from entry level through to management. The education offerings add to the substantial expertise that already exists within the TDL industry in Victoria.

Industry, Government and education providers will continue to work together to help to make Victoria the "State of Supply Chain Excellence and Gateway of Choice". The Victorian Department of Education and Training is a key actor in this partnership and is represented on the TDL Industry Round Table.

The Victorian Supply Chain Excellence Action Plan recognises the ongoing importance of a skilled TDL workforce and identifies further development is needed in areas including; information communications technology, logistics and supply chain management, recruitment, retention and career pathways.
