The education and training challenge for the TDL industry over the next five years and beyond is to address the emerging trends within the industry that place increasingly greater emphasis on logistics and supply chain management and on the acquisition of complex skills at all levels of the industry.

The key education and training elements are:

  • Continued building of educational partnerships between industry and Government including regional Victoria.
  • Improving Career Pathways.
  • Promoting industry recruitment and retention.

The Education and Training PRG was set up to implement the initiatives of the TDL Industry Action Plan in skills development. It comprises representatives of universities and training organisations. Department of Education and Training representatives also participate in the PRG.

The Education and Training PRG strengthens and extends industry consultative and advisory mechanisms to build relationships between industry participants and education and training providers, and ensures education and training services meet the needs of the industry.
